Green Zero or Virgin Mojito?
The International Bartenders Association’s classic mojito consists of 45 ml of white Cuban rum, 20 ml of fresh lime juice, six sprigs of mint, two teaspoons of white cane sugar and soda water. Mix the mint, sugar and lime juice, fill the glass with ice, add the rum and top up with soda water; garnish with mint and a slice of lime.
If you leave out the rum, this mojito is alcohol-free – leaving just lime juice, mint, sugar and soda. Green Zero goes one step further and leaves out the sugar, lime juice and fresh mint as well: The lime and mint flavour comes from ‘Lime & Mint’, whilst cucumber and basil are added as fresh ingredients. That’s why Green Zero is a twist and not a copy. In our mix analysis, it’s described as ‘the Mojito without everything that makes it a cocktail’.
